Personal observatory project

Allsky Observatory Project

A personal allsky camera setup for continuous sky monitoring from Łódź, Poland.

This project continuously monitors the sky using a wide-field allsky camera. It captures live sky images, tracks observing conditions, and helps document interesting phenomena such as meteors, satellites, aircraft trails, clouds, the Moon, star trails, and occasional aurora activity.

Project goals

Built as a long-running personal experiment at the intersection of astronomy, hardware, and data design.

  1. Monitor sky conditions in real time
  2. Build a clean observatory dashboard
  3. Archive selected observations
  4. Experiment with astronomy data visualization
  5. Document the sky from one fixed location over time
